Lyla - 23666 - Kennel 300 - Arrived October 27, 2026 - Chihuahua mix - black and white - female - 9 years old - 11 lbs - Up to date on vaccines - Heartworm negative
Lyla is a petite Chihuahua mix with a black coat, a white chest and legs, tan eyebrows, a silvery muzzle, and big upright ears that seem to catch every sound. Her pale blue eyes see mostly shadows now, and she has never had to face the dark alone. Her best friend, Lincoln, is her eyes, and the two of them share a bond as deep as bonds come.
Lyla arrived at Cobb Animal Services on October 27, 2026, when her previous owners were moving to a place she and Lincoln could not go. At 9 years old and 11 pounds, she is a senior girl whose whole world changed overnight, and it isn’t fair that she is spending these years in a kennel. She deserves a soft bed and a quiet routine, and she deserves to stay right beside the friend who has been by her side all along.
Lyla is house trained, dog friendly, and good with children. She knows sit, and she may know even more. Lyla is mostly blind but can see shadows, and dogs who see little adapt beautifully with the help of their nose, their ears, and a steady routine. With Lincoln nearby, she is already doing just that.
Lyla and Lincoln are very bonded, and we hope the right family will welcome them home together. Because of her age, Lyla cannot be spayed at the shelter. Spaying is not required for adoption, but if her adopter chooses to have it done, it would need to be arranged with their own veterinarian. She is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Come meet Lyla in kennel 300.
