KODIAK - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Georgia

Kodiak - 23169 - Kennel 855 - Arrived October 6, 2026, as a stray - German Shepherd - black and tan - male - Estimated 8 years old - 56 lbs - Up to date on vaccines - Heartworm negative

Kodiak is a stunning German Shepherd with a classic black and tan coat, tall upright ears, and gentle brown eyes that take in everything around him. He is a nice-looking boy, and it’s hard to believe he is still waiting for someone to notice him.

Kodiak arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on October 6, 2026. We don’t know where he spent his years before that, but at an estimated 8 years old and 56 pounds, he has a lot of life and a lot of love still to give. He is great on leash and sits when told, so he already knows how to be a good companion.

Kodiak is a little shy and is still adjusting to the noise and bustle of the shelter. Shy dogs often blossom once they find a quiet, steady place to settle in, and patience is usually rewarded with the most devoted friend you could ask for. Imagine earning the trust of a dog like this, and having him choose you every day.

It isn’t fair that a senior dog like Kodiak has to spend his days in a shelter. Seniors give so much in return for so little: they’re already who they’re going to be, and they are endlessly grateful for a soft bed and a kind voice. Adopting a senior is one of the most rewarding things you can do, and Kodiak is ready to show you why.

Kodiak is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Come meet him in kennel 855. He has waited long enough.
