Auggie - Cavapoo Dog for Adoption in Boulder, Colorado

Auggie could be that dream come true pup for active retirees who love spending their time with a very lovable and super-smart companion. We feel that Auggie would also do well with a younger family with dog-crazy older kids who enjoy the fun and companionship that a sweet dog brings to a family. We'd like older children in Auggie's family because as a smaller guy, we want to make certain that he's always handled gently and with respect.

Auggie, at 15 lbs (the perfect portable size to go anywhere a great little dog is welcome) and 5ish years old is such a great age, old enough to be beyond babyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many active and healthy years ahead.

Auggie loves playing and once comfortable in his new home, will be entertaining in his silly antics, young energy and the huge love he wants to share with his family.

Auggie's story is all too common. A guardian who can no longer care for a dog and hasn't made any arrangements for their care is often quick to turn to their local shelter for relinquishment. However, luck was with sweet Auggie. He was saved from the shelter due to his gorgeous looks (these photos don't do his adorable looks justice), engaging manner and very sweet and loving personality.

Auggie may initially be a bit uncertain or frightened from his time spent in a shelter and on transport to Colorado..but give him just a second (a belly rub and yummy treats are helpful) and he is happy to come closer for a welcome hug. Before you know it, Auggie has gently jumped into your lap to give and receive love. The Texas rescuers recognized that Auggie is a special little dog. They knew that there is a family out there that will fall in love with this irresistible guy.

Auggie was shaved to the skin upon his arrival at the shelter. This was a kindness as the matts covering this guy were huge and interfering with his movement. As a Cavalier / Poodle mix (Cavapoo), we expect that Auggie will have a stunning non-shedding coat. Once he is given the gift of great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are excellent choices), his coat will become the cottony-soft hair that speaks of breed mix. With a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition, ,Auggie's coat will return to the stunning beauty that is natural to his breed mix.

There has been extensive new research that a human-grade, natural diet will provide a healthier (far fewer vet visits) and longer life for our best friends. Farfel's recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) due to our personal experience with the health of our own dogs. We wish the same for every dog we rescue.

Auggie will do well with a family who's invested in spending time with their pup. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure. It can be a neighborhood walk, a visit with friends, a car ride or just an afternoon spending time together on the couch - all would speak to Auggie's great temperament and love of his family. Farfel's isn't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Auggie to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle.

Auggie will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to ony adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to stay true to our commitment to a euthanasia-free future in the canine population.

Auggie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 10/10/2026. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving, sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Auggie, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Farfel’s Farm & Rescue was founded on the idea that each dog deserves a loving home and the chance for a happy life. We are so thrilled to be able to rescue these amazing dogs from urgent situations in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Cancun, Mexico. Working with a dedicated team of volunteers, the dogs are pulled from high-kill shelters because they’ve been recognized for the gifts they will bring to a loving family. They are then transported by specially licensed vans to Colorado for a second chance at life. The dogs are evaluated and treated for any medical issues before being transitioned to their new family, where they can become accustomed to having a family’s love, a warm bed and plenty of healthy food!
