Meet Minnie! 9 pounds of sweetness looking for her forever lap!

Sometimes the best things come in tiny packages. Minnie is a 6-year-old chihuahua mix, just 9 pounds of pure affection, and she's making the trip all the way from Houston, Texas to find her forever home with us.

When our rescue partner reached out about Minnie, they couldn't stop talking about how sweet she is. We didn't hesitate — we said yes. And now we can't wait to help her find the family she deserves.

The sweetest little detail: Minnie has the most adorable way of getting around with an occasional little bunny hop! When she moves, she does a gentle hop-hop with her back legs. It's the cutest thing you'll ever see. We wanted to make sure she was comfortable and healthy, so she's already been evaluated by a veterinarian. The diagnosis? A mild luxating patella (her kneecap slips a little) that causes her no pain at all. She's happy, active, and ready to bounce her way into your heart.

What Minnie is looking for:
- A cozy lap (she's an expert lap warmer)
- A patient, loving home that will give her time to adjust
- Someone who appreciates a happy, hop-happy companion

Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Minnie out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area.

Minnie is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to support our hopes for zero future growth in the canine population.

Farfel’s Farm & Rescue was founded on the idea that each dog deserves a loving home and the chance for a happy life. We are so thrilled to be able to rescue these amazing dogs from urgent situations in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Cancun, Mexico. Working with a dedicated team of volunteers, the dogs are pulled from high-kill shelters because they’ve been recognized for the gifts they will bring to a loving family. They are then transported by specially licensed vans to Colorado for a second chance at life. The dogs are evaluated and treated for any medical issues before being transitioned to their new family, where they can become accustomed to having a family’s love, a warm bed and plenty of healthy food!
