Shem - Border Collie and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Amarillo, Texas

Shem is an inquisitive and very sweet boy with an adorable semi-fluffy coat.

He’s mostly white with black markings, tan eyebrows and some cute speckling. Shem likes to take in his surroundings and observe the world around him before jumping right in. Enjoys romping with other dogs and exploring. Shem is a shy guy at first, but once he warms up and knows you can be trusted (snacks and playtime go a long way!) then he happily accepts all the attention. He loves being nearby his people, but will also trot off and go do his own thing.

He’s looking for a family who will give him the patience and encouragement to continue building confidence as he grows.

Shem and his seven siblings were found abandoned in a yard with their mama and were brought into rescue together. He has been growing up safely in foster care and they have all come such a long way.

Shem is listed as an Cattle Dog/Australian shepherd type mix. His exact breed mix is unknown, but his litter has a variety of herding-type markings and coat characteristics. His mom appears to be a lab/border collie type mix and while we don’t know what dad is we are guessing he may be cattle dog/aussie type mix based on the pups physical appearances.

Shem is expected to be a large adult dog. He has received (4) dhpp vaccines, bordetella, rabies, dewormings, and has been neutered and microchipped.
