Meet Boone - A Handsome Southern Gentleman
Boone is a striking young Lab mix at almost a year of age, with a sleek black coat, long legs, handsome features, and a sweet, gentle soul. He has the confidence and adventurous spirit of a strong Southern boy, balanced by a calm, thoughtful personality.
Boone was abandoned on a piece of property south of Houston. He just showed up one and never left. Which tells us he was dumped most likely by his family. As when dogs are dumped in an unfamiliar place, they will stay there and wait for their family to come back and get them. It is so sad that people do this to their loving companions. Unfortunately we know their family is never coming back for them.
We don’t know for sure why they would do this to Boone except it happens a lot here in Texas. So that’s why we list our Texas Rescue dogs for Adoption all across the country. To help give them a better life than what they had here. Texas doesn’t have many laws for our animals. So people who abandon, abuse, neglect, dump, surrender to an animal shelter , post for free on social media pages and or on their neighborhood social media pages or neighborhood email groups, don’t deserve to have another dog.
You don’t just give up on your pet. So Saving Pups of Texas posts our rescue dogs and kitty cats for adoption all across the country to help give them a better family than what they had here. A loving family that will love them forever and never abandon them again. We search for that new family that will love them with all their heart and soul. Just like they should be loved and respected.
Boone's Personality:
- Calm, gentle, and affectionate
- Rides well in the car
- Enjoys adventures and outdoor activities
Unlike a typical rambunctious Lab puppy, Boone is cool, collected, and easygoing. He is friendly, playful, and affectionate without being overwhelming. Rather than jumping all over people, he listens and looks to his person before reacting—a remarkable quality in a young dog.
Boone is currently fostered in Houston, Texas with other dogs and small children and is friendly with both men and women. He walks nicely on a leash without pulling, listens well, knows “sit,” and is both potty trained and kennel trained. He rides well in the car and enjoys outings, especially trips to the pet store to choose a new toy.
