DESCRIPTION
Hi! My name is Vinny and I am looking for a forever home. Me and my siblings were given up to a small rescue who were able to get us into a dog prison program known as "New Leash on Life" where we have been learning all sorts of stuff like, sit, stay, leash walking and even some house breaking. We appear to be bassets possibly mixed with something else (also known as low-riders) and we will be about 5 months old when we become available to meet on Saturday, June 27th. I am the biggest at a little over 33lbs but I'm low, long and lean! Being of the hound breed mix, I would love to have a fenced yard to explore safely. I am a happy-go-lucky kind of guy and as any typical young adolescent, I will need continued training and socialization to become the great adult dog I'm already on my way to becoming. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at http://www.bcaaofnj.org.
ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED
The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
