DESCRIPTION
Slate is fostered in Shabonna, IL
Slate is one of the pups from the Ft Wayne Humane Society hoarding situation. He is a red tri male Australian Shepherd with STUNNING blue eyes. Slate is learning so much in his foster home. He is estimated to be approximatley 3 years of age and about 40 lbs.
Slate is on the higher energy of energy side of an aussie, agile and loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He also knows a few commands: stay, sit, back up and stand down. Given where he came from, he is still working on potty training as he was formally able to use the home for this. He will need to remain on a good schedule to solidify this.
Slate loves to go on car rides and does well with grooming. He is a little apprehensive of men, but his foster Dad is helping him overcome this fear. He is also crate trained and learning to walk well on a leash.
Slate is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.
