Creed, now called Captain is fostered in Plainwell, MI
This boy is GORGEOUS! Captain is a former breeder. He was surrendered to rescue and he is a stunning blue merle male, less than 4 years of age, weighing around 50 lbs.
Captain is house trained, crate trained and essentially has excellent house manners. He has been known to investigate the trash, if something smelly is left out. He does FANTASTIC with kids, but he also makes it his mission to guard the children from others, which is something an adopter would want to monitor. Captain is a HUGE cuddler and he would be fantastic for someone who spends a lot of time at home and desires a companion. He is best with less comings and goings and is simply happy to stay at home and lead a simple life. He is 100% happiest just being with his people.
He walks wonderful on a leash but does not love being in larger crowds. He has great recall, but he also will fiercely watch the yard and rid it of any bunnies, squirrels, chickens or birds. He does love toys and his favorites are those squeaky toys he can shred in about 2 minutes. Captain has had a couple ear infections, which we now believe might be attributed to chicken in his diet. He should remain on a diet that does NOT include chicken as the protein to avoid reoccuring ear infections.
Captain is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
