Hailey is fostered in Gurnee, IL
Meet Hailey, a gorgeous, fun-loving 3-year-old female Australian Shepherd who's always up for a hike, a run, or a backyard play session. She is also happy to settle in when the day is done. She is a approximately 45 lbs and has a sweet soul. She came into rescue with a litter of puppies, who are all now in their adoptive homes, so it's now her turn to find her forever home and just enjoy life and be a dog, not a momma.
Hailey is very calm in the home and she rides well in the car, so she is happy to accompany you on your errands. She is crate trained, potty trained, and has nice house manners. She also does great for grooming, bathing and brushing. She is a gentle girl who seems to enjoy every opportunity life offers. She would love a quieter home that doesn't have a ton of comings and goings and someone experienced with Aussies.
Hailey can be a bit timid, but she opens up quickly once she's comfortable. She is great with dogs of all sizes. She has not been around cats or small children, so we do recommed a home with children over 10 years of age.
What Hailey loves:
Dog friends—she enjoys living with other dogs, hanging out around them inside, and wrestling and chasing outside
Stuffed animals and chew treats—she likes to collect them and bring them to her resting spot
Learning and playing—she's enthusiastic about basic cues like sit, down, shake, and even catch
Hailey will thrive with an active single person or family who wants a smart, athletic companion with a great “off switch” at home. Are you looking for an all-around great girl?
Hailey is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day. Proof of heartworm purchase for any current or past pets is required to adopt from our rescue.
NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
