Meet Fluffy!

Fluffy is a handsome 3 year old Australian Shepherd mix of some sort, weighing approximately 40 to 45 pounds, and let us tell you something about this boy, he is an absolute GEM! He’s sweet, affectionate, loyal, well mannered, and truly just a good, good dog. We honestly cannot understand how this wonderful boy hasn’t found his forever family yet!

Fluffy’s story almost had a very different ending. He was pulled from a shelter’s euthanasia list just MINUTES before he was scheduled to lose his life. The shelter environment was incredibly stressful for him, and he was displaying reactive behaviors toward people. But once he got out of that environment and into a loving foster home, an entirely different dog emerged. Since being in foster care, Fluffy has shown what a truly wonderful companion he can be. He’s affectionate, gentle with his people, and wants nothing more than to be wherever his humans are.

Fluffy is fantastic with other dogs, both male and female, and even does wonderfully with puppies! He’s also been great with the older children who have handled him at adoption events, walking him through crowds and spending time with him. We think a home with older, respectful children would be the best fit. Fluffy absolutely LOVES going for walks and has wonderful recall in familiar, safe environments. He’s a loyal little shadow who enjoys getting out and about but would be equally happy relaxing at home with his favorite people. He’s the kind of dog who could enjoy an active lifestyle or a more laid back home, as long as he’s included and loved.

And his house manners? Fantastic! Fluffy is fully house trained, crate trained, and completely trustworthy when left out of his crate. He’s not destructive, doesn’t make a mess, and is just an incredibly easy dog to have around. He does have one little quirk worth mentioning — he can bark at unfamiliar people approaching his crate in busy public environments. However, outside of the crate, he’s been friendly and comfortable meeting those same people. At home, he crates beautifully without issue.

Fluffy has already beaten the odds once, and now he deserves the happy ending that almost never happened. He’s affectionate, smart, social with other dogs, loves his walks, and has so many wonderful qualities that make him an incredible companion. He is neutered and up to date with vaccines. He will have his health certificate as well.

Fluffy is living proof that a stressful shelter environment doesn’t always show you who a dog truly is. Sometimes all they need is a chance to feel safe, loved, and understood. Fluffy got that chance, and now he’s ready for the family who will never let him go.
