Jersey *Arriving 11/6* D12964 - Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption

Jersey is a wonderfully sweet, friendly Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix with quite a story to tell! She was found on the streets of Houston, Texas, alongside approximately 40 other dogs. While many of the dogs were smaller, Jersey was one of the bigger pups in the group, and thankfully, her rescuers couldn't bear to leave her behind!

Since arriving in foster care, Jersey has shown everyone what a lovely companion she can be. She's incredibly sweet, enjoys meeting people, and seems happiest simply spending time with her humans. Whether it's hanging out together or heading out for an adventure, Jersey is just happy to be included!

One of Jersey's standout qualities is how nicely she walks on a leash! She's already enjoyed outings around town with her foster family and has done wonderfully. She has also been friendly with other dogs and has been pretty easygoing around the other animals in her foster home. She doesn't appear to depend on another dog for companionship, so she may be just as happy being someone's one and only!

As an Australian Cattle Dog mix, Jersey comes from a breed known for being intelligent, loyal, and active. While she's been pretty content just hanging out with her people so far, her future family should be prepared to provide regular exercise, mental enrichment, and opportunities to stay busy as more of her personality comes out. Walks, interactive games, and continued training are all wonderful ways to keep a smart girl like Jersey happy!

Jersey is still fairly new to foster care, so her family is continuing to learn more about her personality. She hasn't shown much interest in toys or playing just yet, but as she gets more comfortable, we may see more of her playful side come out! Like any dog adjusting to a new environment, she'll appreciate a little patience, time to settle in, and slow introductions to other pets.

What we do know is that Jersey is a genuinely sweet, people-loving girl who has already made a wonderful impression on everyone caring for her. She seems to appreciate the simple things, like spending time with her people and enjoying a nice walk.
