Meet Zuri! Your very own teddy bear!

If resilience had a face, it might just look like this sweet girl. Zuri’s life began in a place no puppy should ever have to know. When our volunteers responded to a call for help involving a mama dog and her newborn puppies, they walked into devastating conditions. The environment was dangerous and heartbreaking—one puppy had already passed away, and another tiny sibling was found trapped in a chain link fence while flies swarmed. It was a painful reminder of how vulnerable animals can be when no one steps in.

But Zuri? She’s not living in the past. Now safe in foster care, Zuri spends her days doing all the things puppies should be doing—playing until she can barely keep her eyes open, tumbling around with her siblings, carrying toys proudly through the house, and soaking up every bit of affection she can get. She’s affectionate, spirited, and full of personality. Zuri has a playful confidence about her, but she’s also incredibly loving and happiest when she’s close to her people.

She’s the kind of puppy who turns ordinary days into memorable ones. Whether she’s making you laugh with her puppy antics or curling up beside you for a nap, Zuri has a way of making herself feel right at home in your heart.

Of course, bringing home a puppy means signing up for the full experience—training, patience, supervision, and plenty of energy-burning activities. There will be moments of chaos right alongside the cuddles. But for the right family, the love and companionship you get in return are immeasurable.

Zuri is still young enough to adapt well to other pets and would thrive in a home with children who understand that puppies are playful, energetic, and sometimes delightfully mischievous.

Once submitted, we will reach out to approved applicants by phone. We may also suggest other amazing dogs in our care who could be a great fit for your home.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $450 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped. Note: We cannot guarantee breed mix or full grown size. Both are estimated based on any known history and physical observations. We cannot guarantee she will stay under 60lbs.
