Meet Petunia Pearl - or "Tunie Girl" for short!

A precious little ball of white fur with just a trace of black woven into her ears, Petunia Pearl reminded us of a pearl-beautiful, unique, and with her own little variations. We wanted to give this tiny girl a name that was both strong and feminine, because her beginning was anything but sweet.

Believed to have been born July 31, 2026, Tunie Girl was the last little one left from a backyard breeder given away to pay a debt! We may never know where her life would have taken her if we hadn't seen that tiny face. She had been weaned from her momma and siblings far too young, and despite her rough start, we knew immediately that this little girl was something special.

When she arrived in rescue, she had a belly full of worms-something that needed immediate attention because those parasites could have literally sucked the life right out of such a tiny puppy if left untreated. Thankfully, she is now safe, receiving the care she desperately needed and getting the chance to simply be a puppy.

Petunia Pearl will receive all of her vaccinations, be microchipped, and be spayed when she is old enough. In the meantime, she gets to soak up plenty of love, attention, and extra spoiling from her foster family while we wait for the perfect forever family to find her.

Her story may have started in a place where she wasn't given the best chance at life, but that is not where her story ends.

Petunia Pearl is currently available for pre-adoption, but she still needs a few more weeks in her foster home before she'll be ready to head to her forever home.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
