Feta is a young cat (DOB: 01-01-24) that was living in a community with no owner. She birthed 4 kittens in May and her and her babies joined Mattie's Place.
Her babies have now been weaned and are available for adoption and it's Feta's turn as well to join her for-always family.
She's a young cat and certainly not feral. I believe she was a pet as some point but found her way outdoors and never reconnected with her family.
She weighed in at 3.50 KG / 8 POUNDS May 16th. Her healthy weight is likely 10 pounds where she's nearing, now that her babies have been weaned.
A life of living on the street has certainly made here a nervous and hesitant girl but she does love to be pet once she trust you and would do well in a home where people respect she'll be an independent cat and not one demanding attention and affection. A part of the family with a degree of separation.
Maybe over time; months or years she'll find her super affectionate side, but an adopter will need to be understanding of here current limitation.
A no pet home is likely best so she can have all the attention lavished on her when/if the time comes. I'm not sure how she'd do with other cats and I think living with a dog would make her even more nervous than she already is.
A home with young children also won't be her vibe.
A quiet home would serve her well.
A condo would likely be awesome for her, with large bright windows for her to watch the world go by, through.
A patient and understanding adopter, that will meet & respect Feta right where she is today is what I'm looking for.
Feta is fully up to date medically; spay/vaccines/deworming/parastite prevention/FIV and FeLV testing.
There are no behaviour (other than nervous) or medical concerns.
She is ready to be welcomed home and cherished for a lifetime.
FROM THE FOSTER:
Feta is a lovely young cat who has done an amazing
job raising her kittens.
Feta loves small spaces where she can snuggle in
and feel safe. Loud noises and movements are startling.
While in foster she allows us to shower her with loving pets
and tolerates short snuggles in our arms but mostly prefers observing from a distance.
Even with her fears, Feta is a very calm cat who hasn't shown any
aggression.
