Sir Roland T. Derpington III - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Sir Roland comes from a storied line of curious, rambunctious, trouble-making orange cats. We're talking BIG orange boy energy. There's no object that he can't bat around or knock over. No high furniture he can't climb. No toy he won't shred. No job requiring zero cats with which he won't assist. Sir Roland's business is mischief, and business is good.

Despite his aristocratic lineage, a twist of fate landed Sir Roland in precarious living conditions during his formative years. As a result, he can be rather conflicted. He is very much a velcro cat at heart, eagerly seeking out pets and attention. But a too-sudden movement may send him scurrying for cover. He keeps trying to make biscuits on your lap, but he can never seem to get comfortable. When company arrives, he dives under the furniture. However, this gregarious chap was not built for covert ops. With a little time and patience, Sir Roland's true, sociable nature takes over, and he'll be in your face demanding attention.

Sir Roland's friendliness extends to cats as well as people. He takes great comfort in the company of other cats. However, this rowdy boy can play a little too rough sometimes. Sir Roland's ideal home would have one or more friendly felines who are confident enough to keep him in line.

Given his delicate nerves, Sir Roland would do best in a calm household. We're recommending no small children, but he'd be fine with older kids who respect his need for peace. (His foster family includes cat-savvy kids ages 11 and 16, and he adores them.) We haven't seen him interact with any dogs, but we can envision him getting along with a gentle, respectful dog friend.
