Meet Maxine, a golden girl with a heart of gold to match! Maxine is a sweet, spunky senior lady who has fully embraced the art of enjoying some of the best things in life. Whether she's curled up beside you on the couch, snoozing at your feet while you work, or proudly presenting her favorite rabbit stuffy for a game of tug, Maxine's favorite place in the world is wherever her people are!
This loving girl is equal parts cuddle bug and goofball. She adores snuggling, enjoys a good chew toy or bully stick, and still gets the occasional case of the zoomies that remind everyone age is just a number. If Maxine had her way, she'd happily spend the day lounging beside you, soaking up affection and companionship!
Maxine is also very smart and already house-trained, knows commands like "sit," "down," and "come," and is highly food-motivated, which makes continued training both fun and rewarding. And while she's happy to relax at home on her own, Maxine would likely be happiest in a quieter environment outside the hustle and bustle of the city, where life moves at a gentler pace and she can truly settle in-especially so that she can enjoy being out and about for walks.
Like many sensitive souls, Maxine is still building confidence as she navigates new experiences. She can become anxious during transitions and may want to stick close to her person when she's feeling uncertain. She can also get a bit mouthy when she's excited or stressed, and is still learning that she doesn't need to worry about every little thing. New visitors can also be overwhelming for her, and she'd much rather live in a calm, predictable home than be apart of a "party house".
Because of this, Maxine would love a patient, understanding adopter who can continue helping her feel safe and secure as she settles into her next chapter. She'll thrive with someone who appreciates that confidence-building is a journey and is willing to meet her where she is. In return, she'll offer unwavering devotion, endless companionship, and the kind of love only a dog like Maxine can give!
Maxine isn't looking for a perfect home, just the right one for her where her sensitive heart is understood, her quirks are embraced, and her golden years can be filled with comfort, love, and plenty of snuggles.

This dog is considered a mixed breed because it's not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.
