Mackie, the lap cat - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Bloomfield, New Jersey

Meet Mackie, the sweetest little survivor with so much love to give!

Mackie is an approximately 7-year-old white tabby who has been through more than any cat should, yet somehow remains the sweetest, most affectionate little angel.

Rescued from the streets of Newark, where he was found thin and hungry, Mackie spent far too long living in a crate before finally getting the chance to experience the comforts of a real home. And boy, did he settle right in!

More recently, Mackie faced another heartbreaking setback when a serious infection in his tail required amputation. There was a point when we truly thought we might lose him, but this brave little guy was an absolute champion through it all. He's been recovering beautifully and doesn't even seem to mind his recovery collar!

Through everything, Mackie has remained the most loving, snuggly, easygoing boy. He's a total lap cat who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you on the sofa, follow you around the house, and keep you company with his adorable little meows. He's chatty without being loud, loves his banana catnip toy, and is happiest just being near his person.

Mackie has early-stage kidney issues managed with prescription kidney food, and he previously underwent entropion eye surgery, which he has recovered from beautifully.

His dream home? Somewhere peaceful with someone who has plenty of love and snuggles to give. He would be happiest as an only cat, soaking up all the attention, but could also do well with a sweet, passive feline companion. Because he occasionally gives little affectionate love nibbles, a home without young children would be best. He has not been tested with dogs.

After everything this sweet boy has endured, all we want is for him to finally have the forever home he's been waiting so patiently for. He doesn't ask for much. Just a cozy sofa, a warm lap, and someone to love him as much as he'll love them.
