Meet Dwight – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start

Dwight’s life didn’t begin the way it should have. Found wandering the streets of Newark painfully skinny and covered in fleas, this sweet young boy had clearly been neglected and left to survive on his own. But despite everything he’s been through, Dwight has remained incredibly loving, trusting, and eager for affection.

Now fully vetted, flea-free, and finally filling out, Dwight is thriving in foster care and showing everyone what a special cat he really is. He absolutely adores head rubs and attention, has the cutest expressive little face, and loves being near his people. He’s the kind of cat who follows you around just to hang out nearby.

Like any classic cat, Dwight is also a huge fan of squeezing himself into tiny spaces — shelves, little boxes, cubbies... if it fits, he sits. It’s impossible not to laugh watching him proudly tuck himself into the smallest spots he can find.

Dwight is still young (DOB July 2023) and has lots of playful energy. He enjoys toys, playtime, cozy naps, and being involved in whatever you’re doing. He can play a little rough at times and is still learning boundaries, so he would do best in a home without young children.

Dwight would also prefer to be the only cat in the home. He’s not a fan of feline roommates and would much rather soak up all the love and attention himself.

• Microchipped
• Negative for FIV/FeLV

After such a hard start in life, Dwight deserves a family who will adore him for the sweet, resilient, affectionate boy he is. Once he loves you, he really loves you.

Dwight is being fostered in Bloomfield, NJ. Transportation can be arranged for the right home.
