Meet Starling!

Let’s get one thing straight right away: black cats are simply the best, and don’t let anyone tell you differently. At just under five months old, Starling is a handsome little house panther with a curious mind, a thoughtful personality, and a quiet way of taking in the world around him.

Starling isn’t the kitten who will immediately race across the room to greet every stranger. He’s more of a thinker. New places and new people can take him a little time to process, and he may be reserved when he first arrives in a new home. But give him patience, consistency, and a little time to settle in, and you’ll get to see more and more of the sweet, playful kitten underneath that thoughtful exterior.

He’s curious and observant, and once he feels comfortable, his playful kitten personality comes out. Starling would do best with a family who understands that building trust is a process and who will let him set the pace rather than expecting him to be instantly outgoing. There is something incredibly special about watching a cautious cat gradually decide that you are safe — and then realizing that you’ve earned his trust. He's fine in a home with friendly kitties and friendly pups.

Like most kittens his age, Starling still has plenty of growing, learning, and playing ahead of him. A feline companion could be a wonderful addition to his life, especially if you already have a friendly, appropriately matched cat at home. And if you don’t, Starling has siblings! LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

This cat is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $175 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our cats are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
