Meet Kay Kay!
If you like your dogs with a little personality, a lot of enthusiasm, and just enough chaos to keep life interesting, you need to meet Kay Kay.
Kay Kay — short for Kangaroo Kevin — is a young Kelpie mix weighing about 25–30 pounds, and she is basically a four-legged pogo stick. Her foster mom says she earned her nickname because she literally jumps and bounces off her back like a kangaroo. She has an endless supply of energy, a hilarious personality, and a huge heart.
Kay Kay is the kind of dog who wants to be where the action is. She LOVES playing with her dog friends, zooming around the backyard, chewing on her Benebone, and making sure nobody is bored. She would probably excel at agility or another dog sport that lets her use both her brain and athleticism.
But underneath all that bounce is a really sweet, affectionate girl who loves being home with her people.
And she has some pretty great things going for her already: Kay Kay is house trained, kennel trained, good with both big and small dogs, and good with cats. She’s comfortable in the house and yard and settles nicely into her routine.
Her ideal family will understand that Kay Kay is still figuring out the world. Busy public places and leash walks can make her nervous, so she needs someone patient who will help her build confidence rather than expecting her to instantly be a perfect walking companion. With time and consistency, she has so much potential.
What would make Kay Kay happiest? A fenced backyard where she can run, a playful dog friend to wrestle and zoom with, and people who appreciate having a goofy, energetic, incredibly loving dog as part of the family. She'd be good with older kids who would enjoy an active pup to play with.
If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you moving, enthusiastically greet you, and become your best adventure buddy, Kay Kay would love to meet you. Apply to adopt at the link below.
