DESCRIPTION

Hi, my name is Lavender! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Curious, active, handleable
-Lifespan: 15 to 20 years
-Can Live With Kids: Yes, but an adult must be the primary caregiver
-Experienced Bird Home: Not required, but encouraged.
-Can Live With Other Birds: Yes, pigeons are naturally flock birds and do best with other pigeons around. A household with an established flock would be ideal for Lavender.
-Additional information:
Meet Lavender, an active pigeon who is looking for their forever home. They came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about their background. However, between the purple dye on their feathers and their comfort with being held, it looks like Lavender is used to being a pet pigeon. If you think Lavender is the pigeon for you, adopt today!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
