Some dogs come into rescue looking for a home. JJ and Peanut are looking for something even more important: a safe place to finally feel secure.
These two came to Mac's Mission after their beloved owner became seriously ill and entered hospice care, leaving him unable to continue caring for them. They were deeply loved by their owner, and it's clear that losing the person they depended on has been a huge adjustment.
JJ and Peanut are bonded and MUST be adopted together. They have each other, and we will not separate them.
Their past before their previous owner rescued them about a year ago is unknown, but we believe they may have experienced some trauma. They are very skittish and unsure of the world, and they don't yet know any commands. They are also not potty trained, so their adopter will need to be patient and willing to continue working with them.
They may run around in circles when overwhelmed or unsure, but in their foster home, they are beginning to show little glimpses of settling into a routine. When they feel safe, they are content to curl up in your lap.
JJ & Peanut aren't going to be the dogs who immediately run up to strangers with wagging tails. They need someone who understands that trust takes time and who will celebrate the small victories along the way.

Willing to give them time to decompress
Committed to keeping them together
Happy to let them become comfortable at their own pace
Prepared to work on potty training
Ready to show two little dogs that life can finally be safe
Both are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
Adoption fee: $200 each / $400 for both
