Meet Hoot!
Hoot joined Mac's Mission after being saved from a troubling situation. His past has left him understandably fearful, and he is still learning that people can be trusted and that he is finally safe.
The good news? Hoot recently completed 10 weeks of training through the Puppies for Parole program! He has worked hard, and we're excited to see him continue building confidence with the right family.
When Hoot starts warming up, his sweet personality begins to shine. He loves attention and has already shown us that he wants human companionship. In fact, when we opened the door to his space, Hoot came right over to say hello.
Now, about that future career... Fence Escape Artist. Hoot can jump surprisingly high and can easily clear short fencing, so his new family will need to be very secure and diligent about keeping him safely contained.
Hoot is very scared around other dogs. He wants nothing to do with them and can react with fear-based aggression, including attempting to bite. Because of this, Hoot must be the only dog in the household. Due to his fear and bitey tendencies, he also needs an adult-only home with no children.
He also pees on things and will need to wear a belly band, and baths are definitely not on his list of favorite activities.
