Poppy may be a little shy, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet little snuggle bug just waiting to trust her person.

Poppy isn't looking for a busy, chaotic household. She would absolutely thrive as a quiet-home lap dog, where she can take her time getting comfortable and learn that she is safe and loved. She may shake when she's scared, but offer her your hand and she'll slowly lean into it. Once she gives you a little of her trust, she loves to snuggle.

She has some adorable quirks, too! Poppy is determined to hide her food bowl underneath her bed. If the bed won't cooperate, she'll simply drag that bowl around until she finds a suitable hiding spot! And when it comes to toys, she especially loves hearing that satisfying SQUEAK!

Poppy is slow to warm up to new people, so her family will need to be patient and let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Because she is so shy, a home without small children would be best for her.

The wonderful news? Poppy has just completed 10 weeks of training through the Puppies for Parole program! She has already put in the work and is ready for someone willing to continue showing her that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.
