Meet Sparrow Oiseau, an 8-month-old Airedale/Heeler mix, who weighs 38 pounds (as of 6/23/26). She and her siblings are from the OISEAU litter ("Oiseau" means "bird" in French.) These fancy pups were born in Tennessee from a stray mom and we suspect they're also a mix of Australian Shepherd/Beauceron/Black and Tan Coonhound and plenty other things! They're looking forward to teaching you more French words like "omelette" and "souffle" (Hey, they didn't say they were good at it!)
Sparrow is a sweet, gentle girl full of playful energy. Her favorite things include: your endless affection, head scratches, bones, her Toppl toy, and playing in the yard to her heart's content. She's also great at fetch! She loves to explore and is always up for a game with her siblings. Sparrow also has a loving personality and enjoys snuggling after playtime and giving you kisses for trying your best to play with her. Your knees may be creaking from the effort, but she appreciates it.
Sparrow's not really a fan of sharing attention, being left alone in her crate, or meeting new people. She'd much rather be comfy and cozy with her main squeeze. She does great in a crate overnight (after settling down), walks well on a leash, and is largely house-broken (some accidents here and there). Sparrow's also a rising fashionista who loves to collect shoes and clothes and bring them to her crate (but she doesn't destroy them)! She also tends to enjoy her meals to herself. Sparrow would thrive in a home that offers patience, structure, and lots of affection where she's the single dog living the good life.
Birds of a feather flock together! Adopt Sparrow today!

Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
