Thimble - Wirehaired Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Lincoln, Nebraska

Thimble is a little weiner dog mix around a year old who made her way to us from Kansas. She was picked up as a stray and, unfortunately, was never reclaimed. With the shelter already overcrowded, that left her in a dangerous spot, so Thimble packed her tiny bags and headed to Remix to find a new family.
She can be a bit shy when she first meets someone and likes to approach strangers, but doesn't like to be approached by strangers. Give her about five minutes alone with you and suddenly you have a tiny shadow following you everywhere. She LOVES treats, which is definitely the quickest way to win her over, and she’s equally fond of finding a cozy spot to curl up and relax.
Since arriving at Remix, Thimble has gone potty appropriately and has been a very easy little houseguest. So far, she has also kenneled well and quietly in her foster home, although she does protest the kennel for a bit after being kenneled.
Thimble does well with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She has had been kid tested once, but based on what we’ve seen from her so far, we think she would likely do well with respectful kids who give her a little time to settle in.
She’s sweet, gentle, and just wants to be close to her people once she knows she’s safe. If you’re looking for a little sidekick who will happily follow you around and then curl up somewhere comfy, Thimble might be your girl.
Thimble is up to date on all of her vetting, including spay, rabies, DAPP and Bordetella vaccinations, microchip, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and deworming.
