Spindle - Husky Dog for Adoption in Lincoln, Nebraska

Spindle is about a year old and came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with more than 20 dogs in the home, including dogs who had already passed away. When Spindle was rescued, she was bone thin and had clearly not been given the care she deserved. Despite everything she's been through, Spindle has SO much life and love in her.

She can be shy and submissive at first, especially while she's figuring out that she's safe and getting to know new people, but that shyness won't stop her from trying to go greet strangers. Spindle is energetic, playful, affectionate, and very excited to finally enjoy all the good things that come with being a dog.

She is friendly with both the dogs and cats in her foster home. She hasn't been tested with kids yet, but based on her personality, we think she would likely do well with them with proper introductions and respectful interactions.

Spindle is still learning some manners when it comes to play with other dogs. Sometimes she gets SO excited that she doesn't realize she's being a little too much. She does well with correction when her playmates are willing to set boundaries and let her know when it's time to tone things down. There isn't anything mean behind it, she's simply an enthusiastic young dog who is still learning how to contain all that excitement.

Spindle walks in to the kennel well on her own for food and only makes noise when the other resident dogs do. She had one accident on her first day in her foster home but has been doing well with structure since.

After coming from a home where she had so little, Spindle seems determined to make up for lost time. She's looking for a family who can give her a little patience while she builds confidence, plenty of opportunities to play, and all the love she's been waiting for.

Spindle is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies, DAPP and Bordetella, heartworm tested, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
