Introducing Grover Chillington!
Grovers story started at the highest kill shelter in Houston. He was added to the euthanasia list after only a few weeks, and we knew we couldn't let his journey end there and we are so thankful a wonder family stepped in to foster him because Grover is pure perfection.
Grover is the very definition of chill. In fact, he is so chill the shelter aged him at 6 yrs old originally. Since then we've had multiple vets say he is likely 2-3years old, but definitely not older than 3. And at around 48 pounds, hes the perfect medium size, He's just a very good boy with an old soul.
Grover loves spending time with his people and is happiest when he can be part of the action, whether that means hanging out in the backyard, joining you for a neighborhood walk, or claiming the coziest spot in the house for a nap. He enjoys getting outside and exploring, but he's not a high energy athlete. A few daily walks and some quality time with his family are all it takes to make this boy happy. His current foster family has a farm and even when he has free reign of the property he will never stray from view of his foster Dad. He's as great off leash as he is on.
He is fully house trained and has excellent house manners. Grover settles nicely indoors, gets along with everyone he has met, isnt destructive, and appreciates a comfy bed after a day of adventures. His ideal forever home would include lot of lovies, a soft place to sleep, and people who enjoy having a devoted canine companion by their side. He can be a little shy at first but within minutes he's flopping over for belly rubs.
Grover has done well with other dogs, farm animals, and enjoys making new friends. He has a gentle, friendly nature and wins people and animals over quickly with his charming and gentle personality. We think he's maybe a hound/cattle dog mix, but we have no idea. He is not a big barker and lower energy so if those are his actual breeds he's actually a unicorn in a dog body.
Grover is finishing up heartworm treatment and will be ready to transport to his forever home in July. He is truly the easiest, most loving guy around. Whoever adopts him will be hitting the rescue dog jackpot, he is impossible not to love.
Grover is fostered in Houston, TX, but is available for adoption across the country! If you see this listing, we have transport options to your area.
Adoption Fee: $600 (Includes transport costs). Grover is also fully vaccinated, on prevention, microchipped, and neutered.
