Tori is a playful, shy, sweet natured little girl. She is about 6 years old, 12#, and possibly a Terrier mix of some sort.
Tori enjoys playing and will happily try to recruit other dogs to join her fun. Stuffed toys are on her list of favorites, especially the ones that crinkle or squeak. She’ll bark when someone comes to the door but generally isn’t much of a barker otherwise. She loves snuggling close to her person and is a huge fan of the lap life!
Tori is a foodie and can be a little over enthusiastic when taking treats, so we are working on teaching her to take them gently.
Tori is about 90% house trained. She occasionally uses a piddle pad overnight. She isn’t a fan of crates right now. We think she could adjust with some short, positive associations, that involve a special treat, like a Toppl.
Sometimes Tori is hesitant about going outside, but having her human head down the steps first helps reassure her. She’s gaining confidence and now enjoys playing in the yard and running zoomies with her foster friend, Lizzie.
Tori can take a little time to warm up to new people. Once you’ve earned her trust, she nudges you for pets and attention. Due to her shyness, size, and enthusiasm around treats, we think a home without young children would be best.
Tori is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet her, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.
Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
