2.5 years old Alex or Al is Full of Love and Personality
Al was rescued from a high kill shelter where he was surrendered by his previous family, who had adopted him from the same shelter when he was a baby. Their excuse : divorce. They did not look back when they were told that Al would be killed in 24 hours if he did not get rescued.
Al was placed in the same kennel with his soon to be best friend Joe. Together they survived the shelter, until their amazing foster parents took them home, thus thwarting their death sentence.
Al is now looking for a forever home where he can play fetch, follow his human and just be a happy pup that he is.
Al is a bit timid but incredibly loving. He thrives on affection and is happiest soaking up attention from his people. He loves toys—especially fetch—and will gladly be your playtime buddy before curling up on the couch for some well-earned snuggles.
A home with or without other pups is fine for him as long as he gets the love he craves for.
Al is Potty trained crate trained. He knows commands. He is not a barker (except when the UPS truck stops by) and he is Very food motivated (great for training!)
Al is affectionate, people-friendly pup who enjoys being around his humans. After playtime, he is very happy to relax on the couch and just be part of the family.
Al is about 28 lb, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated pup who is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. He is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home.
Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
To meet this sweet boy via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com
Al's adoption fee of $500 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a high quality collar, harness and leash.
Out of town transport fee can vary between $200 - $350 depending on destination.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
