Luc is a 9 months old German shepherd-lab mix and an incredibly sweet boy who has been through more than his share before finally finding some stability in his foster home. Rescued as a stray at only 6-7 months of age, Luc had a difficult journey, but with care, love, patience and a safe place to land, he has finally settled in and is showing everyone what a wonderful dog he can be.
Luc is a happy, affectionate boy who loves his people and wants to be part of whatever they are doing. He enjoys going for walks, playing with his toys, getting belly rubs, and cuddling with his favorite humans. Just as easily as he can enjoy playtime, he is perfectly content to curl up on the couch and relax with you.
He has been wonderful with the dogs and people he has met and has shown no aggression whatsoever. He plays rough with his some of his foster siblings but is very smart to know who does not like his style of play.
Luc is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, and well socialized. He knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. Like any young dog, he is still working on his manners, including learning not to jump up when greeting people and not to pull on the leash, but he is eager to learn and is by no means badly behaved.
Luc has also been exposed to horses, cats, and chickens. He was initially a little reactive toward the horses but has gotten used to them. He is curious about cats but keeps his distance, and he has shown no interest in bothering the chickens.
Luc can play a little rough and try dominance with certain dogs, so continued guidance and appropriate dog-to-dog introductions will be important. He is still young and learning how to navigate the world, and his foster family is helping him become the best version of himself.
Most of all, Luc is a loving boy who forms strong bonds with his people. After everything he has been through, he deserves a family who will give him the patience, consistency, and affection he needs to continue thriving.
If you are looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate young pup, who will happily be your walking buddy, playmate, and couch companion, Luc may be your boy!

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
