*Woof* I'm in a foster home! To meet me reach out to my foster caregiver at Chanelle.dumas@gmail.com.
Anissa is an absolute little sweetheart — a precious girly pup with a whole lot of wiggles packed into her tiny frame. When she arrived at HRA she was super shy, but during a short-term foster Anissa truly blossomed.
After just a few days, she gained confidence during her walks, and her playful side came out.
She loves to play fetch—especially if she can find the biggest stick around—and she’s very interested in chasing squirrels. She doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs on walks and is happy to avoid them, especially the yappy ones. When she plays, she can be a little mouthy with your fingers, but it’s gentle and feels like normal puppy-style playfulness.
Inside the house, she’s incredibly calm and gentle. She loves treats and takes them softly. She shows no signs of resource guarding, doesn’t beg, and is very polite around food. She does enjoy chewing, and if she doesn’t have something appropriate available, she will go looking—she has already stolen a sock or two to chew on. The good news is she’s very easy to redirect and happily switches to a toy, especially her squeaky stuffed animal.
She hasn’t barked at all. The only sounds she’s made are a few soft whines when she sees my cat through the gate. Otherwise, she’s quiet, relaxed, and content to nap at my feet while I work or curl up next to me on the couch. She loves attention but never demands it. She also sleeps through the night in her crate without any issues.
Overall, she’s been a wonderful foster—sweet, gentle, and steadily gaining confidence. She’s ready to make someone’s world a little softer and a whole lot sweeter.
