Meet Patty! Tiny, Opinionated, and Sun-Obsessed
Patty is an 8-year-old, 11-pound terrier mix who went from completely shut down in the shelter to a tiny dog with a big personality and a soft spot for people in her foster home.
She’s low energy, calm dog-friendly, and takes her sunbathing very seriously. Most days you’ll find her lounging like a queen, with the occasional playful zoomie to show she’s happy to be in a home. She’s not much of a barker, unless you’re late with her food (which, fair). Patty may give a little pause at first, but once you earn her trust, she’s all sassy loyalty and sweetness.
She's looking for a calm home that appreciates a small dog with opinions and a heart of gold. Contact her foster auntie at acespunaugle@gmail.com to meet her soon!
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The terrier is a spirited and intelligent dog breed known for its feisty personality and boundless energy. Terriers come in various sizes and coat types, but they all share a common heritage as fearless and determined hunters. These dogs are typically highly trainable, making them versatile companions for active individuals and families alike. With their loyalty and playful demeanor, terriers are beloved for their endless enthusiasm and affectionate nature.
We are DC's only open-access shelter. We are always available to help any animal in the District of Columbia. We have cats, dogs, rabbits, and more available for adoption out of our two shelters and also run the Capital Area Spay and Neuter Center.
