BENTLEY' - Shih Tzu and Maltese Dog for Adoption in Springfield, Virginia

Meet Bentley!

Breed: Shih Tzu–Maltese Mix
Age: 3 years old
Gender: Male
Weight: 11.7 lbs
Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $625

Bentley is a sweet, playful, and affectionate little dog looking for his forever home. He arrived at a municipal shelter severely matted and was later diagnosed with heartworm. Thankfully, he completed treatment and is now heartworm-negative and ready for a fresh start!

Bentley loves people and wants to be part of everything his family does. He enjoys toys, walks, playing with other dogs, and spending time with his favorite humans. His personality is the perfect mix of silly and sweet—playful when it's time for fun and calm when it's time to relax.

He gets along well with adults, children, dogs, and cats. Bentley is pee-pad trained and loves staying close to his people. Although he is still learning to feel comfortable being picked up, he happily cuddles beside his humans and enjoys affection.

Bentley's Special Best Friend: Soboro!

Bentley has a very special bond with Soboro, another adorable dog currently looking for a forever home through our rescue. They are best friends who love spending time together. Wouldn't it be wonderful if these two sweet souls could find a forever home together?

Bentley would thrive in a loving home where he receives plenty of attention, companionship, and affection. After everything he has overcome, he deserves a family that will cherish him for the rest of his life.

Could you be the one to give Bentley—and perhaps his best friend Soboro—the happy ending they deserve?

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
