YURI' - Jindo and Chow Chow Dog for Adoption in Springfield, Virginia

Yuri is a 7.5-year-old female who arrived in the United States on October 1! She is settling into her foster home, receiving lots of love from her foster mom and dad, and adjusting to life with their two resident dogs.

Yuri’s life began when her mother, Bella, was rescued while giving birth to five puppies. Bella and three of her puppies found loving homes in the U.S., while Yuri and one sibling remained in Korea.

Yuri was once adopted by a young family, but sadly, she was later kept tied up outdoors and neglected. Thankfully, she was rescued again and given another chance.

Yuri loves people, food, and playing fetch with her favorite ball! She has a sweet, gentle personality and is ready to enjoy the comfort and security of a loving home.

Meet-and-greets are available! Come meet Yuri and discover what a wonderful companion she could be.

Yuri deserves a family who will cherish her as an indoor companion and love her for the rest of her life. Could you be her happily ever after?

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.

The Chow Chow, a distinctive breed known for its lion like mane and unique blue black tongue, originated in China over 2,000 years ago. These aloof yet loyal dogs are known for their independent nature, dignified demeanor, and protective instincts. Chow Chows require early socialization and training to thrive in a family setting, as they can be stubborn and territorial. With a dense double coat that requires regular grooming and a history as ancient guardians and hunting companions, the Chow Chow remains a fascinating and enigmatic breed in the canine world.

The Jindo, a Korean native breed renowned for its loyalty, courage, and intelligence, is highly prized for its unwavering loyalty to its family. This medium sized, spitz type dog has a distinctive double coat that sheds seasonally. Known for their independent nature, Jindos require early socialization and firm, consistent training. With a strong prey drive and territorial instincts, they excel as hunters and watchdogs. Their deep bonds with their owners make them loving companions, albeit not suitable for inexperienced owners.
