Shiba Inu and Pomeranian Dogs Available for Adoption in New Haven, Connecticut

Cadence is a gem and the total package! She enjoys human attention, loves to be pet, and is good with all dogs she has met and ones she has been in foster with. She is friendly, gentle, and and an overall laid back, quiet, easy keeper, but has a playful side, too. Cadence is a snuggler, fun, and seems up for pretty much anything! She is likely anywhere from around 3.5-6 years old and around 15lbs. She was found stray, and landed in a high kill shelter, and we were happy to welcome this deserving girl into rescue!
Cadence’s bio:
-age appropriate energy, is happy go lucky, mellow and friendly
-great with other dogs in her foster home and every dog she’s met in the shelter, out around town and at foster friends’ homes
-likes to be around people
-potty trained in current setting
-does well on leash
-does well in her kennel or gated area/dog room when foster is at work and is good in crate
-enjoys toys, treats and chew bones
-enjoys lounging in the yard and on her dog bed as well as playtime in the yard, likes to explore
-will make a great companion and walking buddy to a lucky family
-does well so far on car rides to her vet appointments and errands with her foster; loves a pup cup
-did great for her grooming/bath
-is up to date on vaccines, spayed, dewormed, is on flea and tick preventatives, and microchipped

Originating from Japan, Shiba Inus are independent, alert, and spirited dogs. They are loyal to their families but can be reserved around strangers. Recognized for their bold and confident nature, Shiba Inus require consistent training and socialization to thrive. With a thick double coat and a distinct red, sesame, or black and tan coloration, Shiba Inus are charming companions for active individuals or families.
