A little sugar. A little sass. And absolutely no intention of letting somebody else run the show.
Yall, meet Adele.
She's an 8-month-old, 33-pound German Shepherd mix with long, lanky legs, the sweetest little face, and just enough attitude to remind everyone that she may be young, but she has opinions.
And she's not afraid to share them.
Adele is one of those dogs who makes life a little more entertaining simply by being part of it. She's confident, curious, affectionate, playful, and convinced that the world is one big adventure waiting for her to show up.
She's also a bit of a bossy little thing.
Not in a mean way. More in a "thank you for your input, but I've actually already made a decision" kind of way.
And honestly? We respect it.
Adele LOVES being outside. Exploring, sniffing, investigating, and discovering new things. If there's somewhere to go or something to see, she'd very much appreciate being included. She's an active girl who would love a family that enjoys getting outdoors and making the most of their days.
But once the adventures are over? She's more than happy to curl up beside her favourite humans for some quality cuddle time.
She wants the adventures AND the snuggles. The morning walks AND the lazy evenings. The exciting Saturday outings AND the Sunday afternoons where nobody accomplishes much of anything.
Adele believes in a balanced lifestyle. Preferably one that includes snacks.
And speaking of snacks, this girl is VERY treat motivated. She's smart, eager to please, and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement. She's still a puppy learning her manners, but with patience and consistency, she's going to make someone a fantastic companion.
She's already fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained, although she occasionally likes to voice her opinion before settling down.
Apparently, Adele believes she's entitled to make a closing statement before bedtime.
When it comes to other dogs, Adele enjoys having friends! She loves to play, wrestle, and chase, although she does have a little Miss Bossy Pants streak. She sometimes likes to be in charge, but she's responsive to redirection and generally does best with smaller groups or one-on-one playdates. She can occasionally guard especially valuable treats around other dogs, so some management and continued training will be important.
She'd be happy with a dog sibling, but she's also confident enough to be your one and only.
As for cats? Adele finds them fascinating. Perhaps a little TOO fascinating. She has an interest in chasing them, so a home without cats would likely be easiest, although an experienced family willing to work on careful introductions and training could be considered.
Adele is wonderful with people, though she may take a few minutes to warm up to someone new. She'd do best with older children who understand boundaries and a family that can provide the structure, exercise, and mental stimulation a young shepherd mix needs.
And here's what we love about this girl.
She's got confidence and curiosity, sweetness and sass, independence and affection. She's smart enough to keep you on your toes and loving enough to make every bit of the effort worthwhile.
We can picture her exploring hiking trails, riding along on weekend adventures, learning new tricks for treats, and curling up beside her people after a day well spent.
Somebody is going to adopt Adele and discover that their household now has a tiny, four-legged assistant manager.
One who is very affectionate, occasionally bossy, always ready for an adventure, and absolutely convinced she deserves a snack for her hard work.
And we have a feeling they're going to love every minute of it.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
