CeCe is a 6-year-old, 110-pound Shepherd mix, which means she is less a dog than a substantial residential presence with eyebrows. At this size, "Where's CeCe?" is rarely a serious question. There is CeCe. CeCe has acreage.
She was adopted from Take Paws as a five-month-old puppy and spent years being a deeply loved family dog. She's housebroken, trustworthy when left alone, spayed, vetted, and dog friendly with appropriate introductions. She even does beautifully at daycare, where apparently 110 pounds of woman can maintain an active social calendar while still preferring her home life decidedly un-chaotic.
And that is really CeCe's thing. She likes people. She likes dogs. She likes walks, comfortable afternoons, familiar routines, and the sophisticated pleasure of nobody suddenly shrieking while sprinting through the room holding a plastic dinosaur. She isn't bad with little kids. As she's gotten older, she simply prefers a quieter household, so adults or older kids would suit her best. Six and a half years of life have given CeCe discernment.
Thunderstorms make her nervous and vet visits are not currently on her vision board, but she manages with patience and, when needed, prescribed calming medication.
Mostly, CeCe is an enormous, gentle, wonderfully civilized girl who has already learned the complicated parts of being somebody's dog. She doesn't need a grand reinvention.
She needs a soft place to put all 110 pounds of herself and somebody delighted that there is so much CeCe to love.
And good grief, is there a lot of CeCe to love.
