Memphis - Rottweiler Dog for Adoption in Polk, Ohio

Hi, Memphis here!

Im not really sure how to explain myself without sounding a little full of myself, so Im just going to say it! Im kind of a big deal around here!

My foster mom says Im excited, loving, and wiggly. I say Im FUN!

Im the girl who wants to know what YOU are doing at all times. Going outside? Im coming. Going inside? Me too. Sitting down? Excellent, Ill be sitting with you. Going to another room? Absolutely not without me!

Im a Velcro girl. I like my people A LOT.

But dont get me wrong, Im not just a walking tornado. I actually have an off switch!

I can spend the morning zooming around the yard, chasing my tennis ball, throwing my own ball and then chasing it because apparently I have decided I dont need anyone else to play fetch with, and jumping into the pool because WATER IS FUN! Then five minutes later, Ill be stretched out on the floor beside you because swimming is exhausting. According to Memphis law, there is a time for zoomies and a time for snuggles.

My absolute favorite thing might be my people. I LOVE getting pets and snuggles, especially from my foster familys kids. After Ive gotten my morning potty break and run around the yard, I love sitting with the kids while they pet me. Ill put my big head right in your lap, lean my entire body against you, and soak up every second of attention.

And if you stop petting me? Well... I will simply lean harder. Its a Rottweiler thing. You wouldnt understand.

My butt also deserves an honorable mention. It wiggles. A LOT. Sometimes Im pretty sure my butt gets somewhere before the rest of me does. Another Rottweiler thing!

Im house trained, I ride nicely in the car, I walk well with my harness and a little guidance, and Im crate trained-ish. Meaning I understand that my crate is safe, and I do great once Im in there. Getting in there? Well, that requires a small negotiation and preferably a treat tossed inside.

I know SIT, and Im currently studying for my WAIT certification. Im also working on not jumping on people when I meet them because apparently a hug from an enthusiastic Rottweiler isnt everyones idea of a proper introduction. Who knew?

Im learning better manners, too. I can occasionally be a little grabby with food, and Ive been known to do some random counter surfing. Not constantly. Just enough to keep everyone humble.

My favorite things include:

Tennis balls
Kong balls
Swimming
Running around outside
Walks
Toys
Food puzzles
Being with my people
And dramatically flopping onto the floor when I decide playtime is over

Im also perfectly capable of entertaining myself. Give me a Kong or a food toy, and Im good to go.

I dont need another dog in my forever home. Im a people girl. Id be happy with a doggy sibling, but Im also completely content being your one and only spoiled Rottie princess.

My dream family? Someone who understands that Im basically an everything bagel in Rottweiler form.

Ive got a little bit of everything! Im active and always ready for a walk, a game of fetch, a good round of zoomies, or an impromptu pool party. But Im also perfectly happy to come inside, flop onto the floor, stick my giant head in your lap, and soak up some serious snuggles.

I dont need a family who is constantly on the go, and I dont need someone who wants a couch potato. I need someone who wants both.

Ive loved every kid Ive met over 12, and I think I could do wonderfully with kids. Since Im still learning that people dont necessarily want to be greeted with a full body Rottie launch, older kids would probably be the better fit right now unless someone has experience managing a big, enthusiastic dog.

I may still have some things to learn. I may occasionally surf the counter. I may need a treat to enter my crate. I may greet you like I havent seen you in 14 years even though you literally just walked into the kitchen.

But I promise you this. You will never wonder if I love you. I will show you.
