Patches - Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Minneapolis, Minnesota

A Day With Patches

A day with Patches is filled with nuzzles and kisses! He's a sleeper til you're ready to start your day then there's a big yawn and stretch, a "pet me" head butt and a swishing tail. Once breakfast is over, he'll play with a toy, explore the yard, greet the neighbor dog, go for a walk or show off his silly zoomie side.

Patches is house trained and smart. He's busy learning commands and doing his best to figure out the world around him. He enjoys people, making friends with other dogs and spending time with kids. He's working on car rides and building a friendship with the resident cat! By the end of the day, Patches enjoys relaxing and being part of the family. He sleeps unkenneled all night on his bed and only barks if he hears something unusual. With his happy-go-lucky personality and curious spirit, this adorable pup could be the missing piece in your family!

Patches is estimated to be 1 year 6 months old and 36 lbs 2 oz. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, and have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.

The retriever is a beloved dog breed known for its friendly demeanor, intelligence, and exceptional ability to retrieve objects. With a loyal and gentle nature, retrievers make excellent family pets and are popular choices for service and therapy work. These dogs excel in obedience training and activities such as agility and hunting. Recognized for their shiny coats and moderate size, retrievers come in various colors including golden, Labrador, and Chesapeake Bay. Their overall versatility and affectionate personalities make them cherished companions in many households.
