Sasha - Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Sasha is a sweet black Lab mix who’s looking for a patient, loving home where she can settle in and feel safe!

She’s a medium-energy girl who enjoys bursts of playfulness followed by plenty of quality couch time and bed naps. She’s fully potty trained, but is still working on building her confidence when it comes to leash walks and new experiences. She loves the backyard and chasing squirrels and bunnies or sun bathing.

While we don’t know much about her past, we do know she can be a little timid, especially around loud noises and sudden movements. She needs a family who will take the time to build her trust and is willing to give her the patience and reassurance (and lots of snuggles, she loves snuggles and kisses!)

As she settles into a familiar routine and learns that she’s safe and loved, we think her confidence will continue to grow. She is a wonderful companion for someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace. She’s great around both cats and dogs, but hasn’t spent time with children yet.

Sasha is estimated to be 5 years old and 61 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, and have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.

The retriever is a beloved dog breed known for its friendly demeanor, intelligence, and exceptional ability to retrieve objects. With a loyal and gentle nature, retrievers make excellent family pets and are popular choices for service and therapy work. These dogs excel in obedience training and activities such as agility and hunting. Recognized for their shiny coats and moderate size, retrievers come in various colors including golden, Labrador, and Chesapeake Bay. Their overall versatility and affectionate personalities make them cherished companions in many households.
