Veggie is about 6 years old, 23 pounds, and one of those dogs who makes you stop and wonder how she's still so sweet after everything she's been through.
She was found on the bottom of the river trail in very rough shape with serious wounds to her head, likely from an animal attack. A good Samaritan got her to a local shelter right away where she received emergency care, was stabilized, and slowly started healing. Once her stray hold there was lifted, she came to us so we could continue her recovery and help her find the home she deserves.
And here's the part that really sticks with you. Veggie didn't come out of that experience shut down or guarded. She came out of it social. Since arriving, she's shown us that she's friendly with everyone she meets. Dogs, people, it doesn't matter. She doesn't act like she's been through anything bad. She's just happy to be here, included, and part of things.
She's also surprisingly spry. She enjoys a good walk, likes exploring, and moves with a little spark when she's feeling good. After that, she's all about treats and settling in for some well-earned cuddles.
Her personality overall is very easygoing and sweet. She's not complicated, not demanding, just a gentle dog who likes people and likes being part of a home. Veggie feels like a second chance dog in the best way. Not broken, not bitter, just ready. Ready for normal life, soft beds, kind people, and not having to worry anymore. She's been through a lot. Now she's just waiting for someone to take her the rest of the way home. Could that be you? Please inquire today!
