Meet Kelp! Just like the sea plant he's named after Kelp is a little gentle, a little wavy, and happiest when he's got something to hold onto. In his case, that's his people!
Kelp is about 2 years old and weighs just 14 pounds. He came to us when his previous owner was no longer able to care for him, and while all the changes were a little overwhelming at first he's been finding his footing more and more each day.
Kelp can be shy when he first meets new people, but underneath that cautious exterior is an incredibly sweet little dog who wants so badly to be part of the action. Once he realizes he's safe, his personality starts to shine. He'll follow you around, curl up beside you, and happily join whatever you're doing.
He loves other dogs and gains a lot of confidence from having canine friends around. He's playful, affectionate, and always ready for a cuddle. He's also surprisingly happy being carried around like the tiny baby he believes he is!
And while most pugs can be bribed with a snack from across the room, Kelp has different priorities. The real way to win him over is with back scratches, gentle attention, and talking to him like he's the cutest thing you've ever seen. Because, if we're being honest, he kind of is.
