Penny Lane is a 2 1/2-year-old Poodle with snowy white fur, a fresh new haircut, and a bright future ahead of her. At 18 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion who is just beginning to discover what life can be like beyond her past.
Penny came to us from a commercial breeder in severely overgrown condition and in need of some TLC. Thankfully, she's already on the road to recovery and feeling much better after a spa day and a fancy makeover.
Right now, Penny is timid and tends to quietly observe life happening around her, but she has shown herself to be incredibly sweet. She allows all handling, enjoys being close to her volunteers, and seems to find comfort in gentle companionship. Though she isn't quite ready to show off her full personality yet, we suspect there's a happy, social girl waiting to emerge once she realizes she's finally safe.
Penny is looking for a loving, patient home that understands she will need time to adjust and build confidence. A home with another friendly, confident dog would be especially beneficial, helping show her the ropes and teaching her that family life can be wonderful.
