Tommy is a handsome black Pomeranian who came from a terrible puppy mill case. He had an extremely rough start to life, but he is making progress every day and slowly learning what it means to be a dog.

Tommy is still very fearful, but he is already showing us how much potential he has. He has started learning to walk on a leash and is picking it up quickly. He is also dog friendly and does best when he has patient, gentle support while experiencing new things.

Because of his fearfulness, Tommy would not be a good fit for a home with young children. He may do well with older, respectful children who understand that he needs time and space to feel comfortable.

It is important for potential adopters to understand that all of the dogs from this puppy mill case have had extremely limited lives. Most spent the majority of their lives confined to tiny cages with little to no socialization. As a result, new experiences, environments, people, and everyday household life can be overwhelming for them.

None of these dogs are currently potty trained, so adopters should be prepared for accidents and willing to patiently teach them. They will also be flight risks while they are settling into their new homes, so extra precautions with doors, gates, leashes, and secure fencing will be extremely important.
