Meet Groot — he may have started out tiny, but this little guy proved that strength can come in the smallest packages!

Groot came to us from the shelter as a very sick, very tiny baby and the sole survivor of his litter. He had a rough beginning and plenty stacked against him, but Groot had other plans. This little sprout fought hard, grew stronger, and showed us just how determined he was to be here. Now he’s thriving and ready to keep growing with a family of his own.

Groot is sweet, playful, and an all-around happy little guy. He loves attention and affection but is also perfectly content entertaining himself with his toys. Whether he’s playing, exploring, or soaking up some love, Groot seems pretty pleased just to be part of the action.

Because Groot grew up without littermates, he missed out on some of the important lessons puppies naturally teach one another. We would prefer a home with another friendly, well-socialized dog who can help Groot continue learning appropriate dog-to-dog manners, boundaries, and communication as he grows.

Groot is still a young puppy and will need continued training, socialization, structure, and consistency to help him become the best adult dog he can be. He’s already proven how much strength is packed into his little body — now he just needs a family to help him grow the rest of the way.

He may only know a few words, but we’re pretty sure one of them is: “I am Groot... adopt me!” Groot was born in August 2026 and is currently being fostered in Fort Worth, Texas.

OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR PENNSYLVANIA BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Pennsylvania. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
