Meet Vamos — A Gentle Soul Looking for His Person
Vamos is a handsome approximately 3-year-old, 57-pound Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been waiting far too long for someone to see just how special he is.
Vamos is one of those dogs who may not give his whole heart away the minute he meets you. He can be timid at first, especially in unfamiliar situations, and he needs someone who understands that trust sometimes takes a little time. Give him patience, reassurance, and the chance to feel safe, and you’ll begin to see the incredibly sweet boy hiding underneath that uncertainty.
And once Vamos gets comfortable? He’s a big baby.
This 57-pound “little dude” actually likes being picked up and carried around like he’s a lap dog. He loves attention from the people he trusts, enjoys playing, and definitely appreciates a good meal. He’s also perfectly happy stretching out on the couch and relaxing with his person.
Vamos loves getting out of the house, too. Car rides are one of his favorite things, and he’s happy to join you for a walk or an adventure before heading home for some serious couch time.
He’s already got some important things figured out: Vamos is housebroken and crate trained.
What he needs most isn’t a perfect home. He needs a patient one—someone who won’t rush him or expect him to be fearless on day one. Someone willing to reassure him, let him settle in at his own pace, and show him that he’s finally somewhere safe.
Vamos has waited a long time for that person.
If you’re willing to give him a little time, you may discover that the shy dog who needed reassurance becomes the sweet, silly, affectionate 57-pound baby who wants to be carried around, ride in your car, share your adventures, and then steal a spot beside you on the couch.
Sometimes the dogs who take a little longer to trust are worth every minute of the wait.
Vamos is ready for his forever home. He just needs someone patient enough to show him it’s finally his.
