Tiny Potato. Professional Cuddler. Survivor.
Spud's story could have ended very differently.
This sweet guy was found completely alone after being dumped during a terrible storm in Texas. Thankfully, an incredible person spotted him and brought him to safety. Because of that kindness, Spud is now warm, loved, and getting the chance every puppy deserves.
We believe Spud was born near the end of May 2026. He is currently around 50 lbs!
As for his breed? Hound mix? Jack Russell? Rat Terrier? A little bit of everything? We honestly don't know. What we do know is that he's absolutely adorable. Based on the size of his paws, we suspect he may grow to around 60-75 pounds, but at this age that's simply an educated guess.
What isn't a guess is his personality.
Spud is sweet, affectionate, playful, and wonderfully social. He loves people, enjoys being held, and has already mastered the art of melting hearts with one look from his big puppy eyes. He's curious about the world around him and approaches new experiences with the kind of bravery only tiny puppies seem to possess.
One minute he's exploring every corner of the room, and the next he's curled up in your lap fast asleep.
Like any young puppy, Spud will need an adopter committed to helping him learn all the important puppy skills. Potty training, crate training, socialization, leash walking, and basic manners are all still ahead of him. He's very much a baby and will need patience, consistency, and lots of love as he grows.
In return, you'll get to watch him discover the world for the very first time.
Spud's rough beginning is behind him now. The scary storm, the loneliness, and being left behind are all part of his past.
What he needs now is a family to make sure the rest of his story is nothing but happy chapters.
If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts adorable, resilient, and impossible not to love, Spud may be your perfect match.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isnt about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know theyre finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom soft and steady into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, youll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
