Handsome Wade may be a little shy when you first meet him, but don't let his timid nature fool you—there's a sweet and loving boy just waiting to blossom! Wade came from a hoarding situation, so the world is still a little overwhelming for this gentle guy. He can be timid at first, but he warms up quickly once he realizes he's safe. Give him a little patience, kindness, and reassurance, and you'll soon see his sweet personality shine through.
Wade is a smaller Lab mix, making him a wonderful size for just about any family. He gets along great with other dogs, too, so a friendly canine companion could be the perfect buddy to help him feel confident and comfortable. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
